词汇量、阅读习惯、对英文的语感，都在小学阶段打底。到了中学再补，补的是知识；小学补上的，是底层能力。Vocabulary, reading habits and the “feel” for English are all built in primary school. Catch up in high school and you patch knowledge; build it in primary school and you build capability.

对双语家庭来说还有一层：家里的中文环境是孩子的优势，但英文阅读量如果跟不上本地同龄人，差距会一年年放大。持续的双语输入，需要一个每天都愿意打开的东西，所以我们把它做成了 15 分钟一次的闯关程序。For bilingual families there’s one more layer: Chinese at home is an advantage, but if English reading falls behind local peers, the gap compounds every year. Sustained bilingual input needs something children want to open every day, which is why the programme is built as a 15-minute daily quest.

先弄懂一个词：什么是 PM？First, one term: what is PM?

在澳洲小学，孩子读的书几乎都按 PM 分级（PM Benchmark / PM Levels）来排：从 Level 1 的一页一句话，到 Level 30 的整页文章。老师说的「他现在读 Level 14」，指的就是它。In Australian primary schools, home readers follow PM Levels (PM Benchmark): from one sentence a page at Level 1 to full-page texts at Level 30. When the teacher says “she’s reading Level 14”, this is what they mean.
